LinkedIn is a social networking platform that is primarily used for professional networking, job searching, and career development. The platform allows users to create a profile that includes their professional experience, education, and skills, as well as connect with other professionals in their industry or field.
One of the key features of LinkedIn is the ability for users to create and share posts on their profile. These posts can include text, images, and videos, and are often used to share industry news, insights, and other professional content.
However, one limitation of the current post section on LinkedIn is that it does not automatically capitalize the first letter of each sentence, which can make it difficult for users to create posts that are grammatically correct and professional-looking. By implementing an autocapitalization feature, LinkedIn could improve the user experience of creating posts and help users to create more polished and effective content.
Problem Statement
LinkedIn users currently face the challenge of having to manually capitalize the first letter of each sentence when creating posts on their profile. This can be time-consuming and detract from the overall user experience. Our goal is to redesign the post section to include an autocapitalization feature that automatically capitalizes the first letter of each sentence, in order to improve the usability and efficiency of creating high-quality posts on LinkedIn
I conducted a survey to gather insights into LinkedIn users' experience with the post section and their preferences for the redesign. We received over 30 responses from users across different industries and job titles. This was created with the Linkedln polls. Overall, users found the post section to be user-friendly, but there were some challenges when it came to formatting text and adding media.
We asked users about the potential addition of auto capitalization to the post section, and the majority (92%) were in favour of this feature. They believed that it would save time and improve the overall appearance of their posts.
The solution to the problem of users struggling to format text and add media in LinkedIn's post section is to add an autocapitalization feature. Based on user research, we found that the majority of users are in favor of this feature, as it would save time and improve the overall appearance of their posts.
