Also, for the solution to the session ending if both parties leave, i’d advise that the session should not end before the time elapses as there might be technical issues which might prompt both parties to leave and want to rejoin. Keeping the session active would solve the problem of sessions ending if both parties are no more in the call.

Ever tried purchasing fresh foods or fresh farm products online and you have difficulty in getting them? You do right? I also. As a consumer, I love fresh farm products and i try my best in getitng them directly from farmers but 90% of my efforts turn out to be unsuccessful.
Recently, I met with several farmers and made enquiries about how they manage to sell their products in the market and get their value for money of their products. Most of them complained about not being able to do so, some did complain about low prices and being underpaid. Some said they manage to them their products through the middlemen way of export. i.e by selling to a retailer. But all these groups made emphasis about being underpaid
These two problems brought about a solution which is Farm2Home.
Project Overview
The Problem
The standard of Agriculture in the country is falling due to lack of audience given to agricultural sector and lack of usage of technology in promoting agriculture.
Farmers in Nigeria often face challenges in exporting their produce due to intermediaries, resulting in reduced profits and limited market reach.
Consumers, on the other hand, have difficulty accessing fresh farm products conveniently.

The Goal
Farm2Home is a mobile application that connects farmers directly with consumers, enabling farmers to export their produce without intermediaries and consumers to buy fresh farm products conveniently. The app offers real-time access to farm products, prices, and locations, and facilitates secure payment and delivery options. With Farm2Home, farmers can expand their market reach and increase profits, while consumers can enjoy affordable, high-quality, and locally-sourced food.
The goal of Farm2Home is to provide a mobile application that connects farmers directly with consumers, enabling them to buy and sell fresh farm products conveniently, efficiently, and securely, while also promoting locally-sourced and sustainable agriculture.
User Research
I conducted a survey to gather information from potential users of our Farm2Home app. The survey included questions about age, occupation, and current methods for buying and selling farm products.
Of the respondents who identified as farmers, most sell their products through intermediaries, such as wholesalers or retailers, and were interested in increasing their profits and market reach. They also expressed frustration with the lack of transparency and fair pricing in the supply chain.
For non-farmers, the majority reported difficulty accessing fresh farm products directly and expressed interest in buying from local farmers. They cited convenience and product quality as important factors in their purchasing decisions.
These findings indicate a clear need for a platform that connects farmers directly with consumers, allowing farmers to increase their profits and market reach while providing consumers with fresh, locally-sourced food. Additionally, the app could help address issues related to transparency and fair pricing in the supply chain.

Ideation
For the ideation process of Farm2Home, I utilized the collaborative design tool FigJam to work through the pain points identified from user research. By brainstorming and sketching out multiple solutions, I was able to identify potential features and functionalities for the app, such as an easy-to-use interface for farmers to list their products and the incorporation of an AI based tool to help users through any challenges of using the app. Through this process, I was able to generate new ideas and refine existing ones to create a solid foundation for the app design.
Sketches

Low Fidelity Prototypes
In the low-fidelity mockups for Farm2Home, I created a rough visual representation of the app's basic layout, functionality, and navigation. This allowed me to quickly iterate and test different design ideas before investing too much time in high-fidelity designs. I also gathered feedback from potential users to refine the design and ensure that it met their needs and expectations.

High Fidelity Prototypes
For the high fidelity mockups of Farm2Home, I started by refining the design concepts from the low fidelity mockups. I used Figma to create detailed wireframes that reflected the overall visual design and user flow. I added more visual elements such as icons and images to make the design more engaging and easier to use. I also conducted usability testing with a few users to gather feedback and make any necessary adjustments. Finally, I created polished designs with the final user interface design that showcased a visually appealing and easy-to-use app.

Information Architecture
Information Architecture
This information architecture is designed to meet the needs of both farmers and consumers by providing a platform for local farmers to sell their produce directly to consumers, while also educating users about the benefits of buying local and supporting sustainable agriculture. The app features a user-friendly interface with a variety of resources and tools for finding, ordering, and learning about local produce. It also includes options for user accounts and feedback, allowing for personalized experiences and continuous improvement.

Key User Flows

What I learnt:
The important of user research. User research is important to kno wwhat a user wants and to be able to create a design or product that works for the user.
The importance of simplicity. Most of the farmers would have little or no computer literacy and this should be noted and the designs should be designed into a much simpler and easier solution so they could cary out their tasks successfully.
